Introduction
|
The Kansas City Metropolitan Library & Information Network, offers a valuable resource for meeting and workshop planners to enhance their programs by tapping into a wealth of speakers. The Continuing Education Committee of KCMLIN has set up a speakers bureau, coordinating information from library, non-profit and business speakers and making it readily available to workshop and meeting and workshop planners. The KC Trains Speakers Bureau has experts who can speak on library, non-profit, business, supervisory, human resources, paraprofessional, and administrative topics. The Speakers Bureau can also help save on speakers travel fees by utilizing regional speakers, and can find a last-minute replacement if a keynote speaker, workshop leader or panelist cancels. Booking local talent for keynote addresses, workshops and panel discussions can save meeting planners the costs of transportation, hotel and meals spent on out-of-town experts, especially when there is such a strong talent pool right here in the area. The Kansas City Metropolitan Library & Information Network is a multi-type library consortium of 200+ library systems. Under the umbrella of the KC Trains program, KCMLIN has established a strong, professional, energetic pool of speakers who are willing to travel to share their expertise. |
